4-H makes
science FUN!
This
site provides hands-on curriculum and resources that will
be useful to science educators of all types...teachers,
4-H club leaders, museum & nature center directors,
camp counselors, youth group leaders, etc.
The 4-H Youth Development Program has been providing
science education to school-aged youth using a learn-by-doing approach since the early
1900s. It uniquely draws on its connection to Rutgers, The State
University of New Jersey and the nationwide land-grant university system
for unbiased research and science expertise.

4-H and Schools
Working Together in Science Education
To help NJ-based
educators (whether in-school teachers, home-schooling
parent-teachers, or others) meet learning objectives,
effort has been made to connect Science Discovery Series
educational activities with the NJ Core Curriculum
Content Standards set by the NJ Department of Education.
These standards may also be helpful for educators in
other locations. Find out which content standards are met by each SDS unit.
Rutgers Cooperative Extension also has a helpful fact
sheet that outlines resources available to schools and
other educators, FS076, 4-H and
Schools Working Together in Science Education (74 KB PDF file).
"You can't teach anyone
anything. You can only help them discover it for themselves."
